Grace, That's Me

“Writing is an extreme privilege but it’s also a gift. It’s a gift to yourself and it’s a gift of giving a story to someone.”  Amy Tan

A writer is a person who cares what words mean, what they say, how they say it. Writers know words are their way towards truth and freedom, and so they use them with care, with thought, with fear, with delight.” – Ursula K. Le Guin
I began my "about me" page with two quotes from two ladies whom I have never heard of before. That should tell you one of two things about me, I am either pretending to be scholarly and intelligent, or, I felt some sort of kindred spirit with their meaning.

Ah, another clue, I used the term "kindred spirits". You now know that I have had some sort of exposure to Anne of Green Gables, this being true, you cannot have done anything but assume that I must not entirely backward when it comes to classic literature. The odds in my favor are ever increasing. Wow, I'm on a roll here.

Ok, enough talking in circles, time to get serious. Hi there, I'm Grace. I am a home schooled graduate in Southwest Missouri.

I'll keep my list of favorite things short. History, international cultures, languages, art, books, chocolate, cheesecake, pickles, puppies, movies, and Captain America.

Here's the truth about me. Many bloggers begin blogs to share about their ordinary little lives in which they are discovering life, happiness, and hardship. Well guess what....

....my blog is entirely the same.

I am just an ordinary person who is doing her best to live life, learn lessons, love the Lord, thrive with my family, and spread  the light of His love around. And sometimes I fail miserably. But usually when I do, I learn something from it, and then I feel an urge to share it.

I am also writing this blog for the purpose of sharing stories. We as human beings get intensely involved in stories. We are all living in our own, and sometimes, we get the privilege, or yes, the curse of living in someone else's. God is writing a grand story in which we are all characters, being woven throughout the plot.

I desire to share truth, joy, sadness, and explore mysteries of this crazy life and the Awesome God that I serve. I am here to enjoy  and share in the "unexpected journeys", the "long winters", and "new hopes". Join me, and together, we can discover beautiful things.
